To say this year has not gone as planned would be an understatement. The COVID-19 outbreak really set back many wedding plans for the year. So, Scott and I were especially excited for Natalie and Justin’s wedding this past weekend! It was so nice to finally be back doing what we love and spending time with this awesome couple and their families. Natalie and Justin chose the gorgeous Where the Creeks Meet barn venue as the backdrop for their big day and it was beautiful!
Like so many of our couples, Natalie and Justin are high school sweethearts. They started dating when they were just 16 after Justin won Natalie over at an FFA Barnwarming dance where he referred to her as “his not-girlfriend” because he already knew she was something special. They had their very first date a few days later and have been together ever since. Justin proposed in January of 2017 at Natalie’s house. He wrapped MANY boxes and placed them inside one another. When she removed the wrapping paper there was a picture of all their “firsts” together. The very last box was a ring box- but it was empty! It was then that Justin got down on one knee, pulled a ring fro his pocket and asked Natalie to be his wife. However, it definitely didn’t go exactly as planned because Natalie, after having spent several minutes opening empty boxes, assumed he was joking and blurted out that she hated him instead of saying yes. Thankfully, after realizing he was serious she amended her answer to an enthusiastic “yes!”.
This past Saturday this cute couple finally said their vows in a super pretty outdoor ceremony. They made sure to include a line from the movie “The Choice” in their vows, promising to bother each other. They said that ever since they saw that movie, it stuck with them and no matter what, they wouldn’t want to be bothered by anyone else! After the ceremony, guests and our newly married couple headed into the barn for a night of music and dancing. I don’t think they could have asked for a better way to celebrate their new lives together.
Congrats Natalie and Justin on taking these first steps into your new life together. We are so excited to see what the future has in store for you both!
