This weekend we had more than 12″ of snow fall and we couldn’t have been more excited! It’s been several years since we’ve had this much snow in Jefferson City, so we were super excited for the kids to get out and experience it. For our youngest son, this was the first time he’s ever experienced any really significant snowfall. Snow days are some of my favorite memories from my own childhood and as a mom, it’s extra special to be able to help create those same memories for my own kids. Luckily for us, we have a sloped backyard which is perfect for sledding so we didn’t have to travel far to make some Winter magic happen. It took a little engineering from Scott to get the snow packed down to an acceptable sledding track thanks to how deep and wet the snow was, but once he got it ready to go, the kids had so much fun! Then we topped off our day of Winter fun with a snowman in the front yard who we lovingly have named Harriet. Originally, we had planned for our snowman to be much larger but then we remembered that packed snow is heavy and we are not strong people. So, we settled for a very respectable 5′ snowman instead.
I hope all our Missouri friends are staying warm and dry and enjoying this weather as much as we are!
